While this is the case, we would quickly discover in this article that people are paying for their music for a reason.

A quick look at the 2 places to find iPhone music downloads reveals that they are either free or requires payment. The free ones are the file sharing networks or just about any site that makes the songs and music free for download. The other group is the paid sites like iTunes, Rhapsody and the new paid membership sites.

Free Sites - The Good and the Bad

The truth is free stuff is always very enticing and hard to miss. That is the reason why there is a place for these free sites with music lovers. Each site actually requires you to download and run their client software on your computer in order to find the music you are looking for.

The truth is, to make the iPhone music downloads free, they need to make advertising dollar and this software would pack each song with an adware. Adware is actually a program that runs and activates ads such as pop up on your PC when you surf. Some download applications also install a spyware secretly on your computer to track your surfing behavior.

There is also a risk of getting your PC infected with worms and Trojans. Weaker computer viruses are easy to remove if your computer is protected by anti-virus programs. The tougher ones are a little more complicated to remove. In worst case scenarios, you can lose a fraction of your hard drive data.

Pros and Cons of Using Paid Sites

When you use these sites, you would have to pay for your iPhone music downloads. Each piece can cost about a dollar for some services. The advantage here is that you can sleep easy, knowing that there are no adware, spyware and viruses to fight each time you download a song.

The music is also of a high quality here and free music definitely cannot match up to that. You also do not need to convert the files if you wish since they are compatible with your iPhone. Simply download, transfer and play. It is as easy as ABC.

All sites are not the same and can vary in terms of the prices, music library site and genres, download speeds and interface, customer and technical support as well as popularity. Another difference is that some services are now also offering movies, TV shows, music videos, games and software on top of just music.

In recent months, paid membership sites have sprung up, offering lifetime memberships to their huge libraries of iPhone music downloads. It is gaining a lot of popularity since you can download unlimited number of songs for the price tag of $49.99. There is no limit on your bandwidth usage.
